I recently visited the hot spot “Kisa Restaurant” in New York City. Despite opening at 5 p.m., the line was already long before opening, and I had to wait for about 2 hours. But finally, I got inside.
The story of “Kisa Restaurant” dates back to the 1980s in Korea, where it initially catered to taxi drivers, offering affordable Korean meals. So, the atmosphere here is quite Korean, and you can feel the warmth even before tasting the food. The staff is exceptionally friendly, maintaining an energetic vibe.
Here, it’s one person, one menu. The flagship dish, “Baek Ban,” comes at a price of $32. You can choose from bulgogi, spicy pork stir-fry, or squid stir-fry as your main dish, which comes with various side dishes like seasoned seaweed, rice cakes, and rolled omelets, all served on a platter. Each dish here is so delicious and diverse, you’ll be thoroughly satisfied.
I especially enjoyed the spicy pork stir-fry and squid stir-fry. When paired with the fluffy, sticky rice, the spicy and sweet flavors fill your mouth with happiness.
The ingredients are directly sourced from Korea, and they even make their own kimchi. So, the food here truly embodies the Korean taste.
After finishing your meal, the staff gives you a coffee coupon. You can use it in the coffee vending machine inside the restaurant to enjoy a cup of coffee. I appreciated this thoughtful service.
Although it was a long wait, the delicious Korean food was worth it. I have a feeling I’ll become a regular here. I’m looking forward to visiting again whenever I get the chance. 😋🥰🍲
